Brief Description

The Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA) is calling for applications from BEng/BSc in chemical engineering final year students and graduates for its Master in Chemical Engineering bursary and research programme. 

The programme covers two years of full time study at participating universities during which students will work on projects that include beneficiation of wood fibre, recycled fibre or process waste, and resource efficiency. Participation in the PAMSA bursary programme also facilitates possible employment as an engineer-in-training at participating PAMSA member companies.

What does the bursary cover?

  • The bursary covers academic costs (for two years of full-time study)

Study area of focus

  • You must be a final year BEng/BSc Chemical Engineering student at a registered South African university or a BEng/BSc chemical engineering graduate.

Eligibility and Requirements

PLEASE READ THE CRITERIA – DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT STUDYING CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

  1. You must be a BEng or BSc (chemical engineering) final year student or graduate at a registered South African university.
  2. You must have a good academic record with a minimum 60% average in the final year of study.
  3. You must have completed your studies in five years or less.
  4. You will be required to submit:
  • A CV
  • A one-page motivation as to why you should be considered. Herein, you should also indicate your areas of interest, for example energy efficiency, renewable energy and biopolymers etc.
  • Academic transcripts for all years of study,
  • A letter of reference from a lecturer. . PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE THESE AVAILABLE AS YOU WILL NEED TO UPLOAD THEM IN ORDER TO COMPLETE YOUR SUBMISSION
